Ferries

Croatia’s islands are its real treasures and a trip to the country is hardly complete without an island visit.

Luckily for the yacht-less, an intricate system of ferries connects the thousands of islands of Croatia. Ferries can be taken for a day trip to an island beach, or to travel in comfort from one end of the island to the other. Ferries are more scenic and comfortable than a full-day bus ride, but they are also more expensive.

Jadrolinija is Croatia’s national boat line, and the biggest and most luxurious ferries are with Jadrolinijia. Local ferries link popular day-trip island destinations with cities, and the waits can be long in the summer, so if day-tripping, travel without your car.
